Friday Night Rock Hounds

MIXED CURLING 2007/2008

Welcome All Curlers:

Although we all have a competitive spirit, we would like to encourage everyone to have fun and make new friends in our Friday Night Rock Hounds Social League.  There will be 21 nights of curling.  Attached is a list of all curling nights for the 2007/2008 curling season.

Reminders

1.     If your team is unable to curl on any night, we ask that the skip contact the opposing skip at least 24 hours in advance.

2.     Round Robin games are 8 ends.

3.     The "Third" on the winning team is responsible for marking the outcomes on the draw sheet to ensure that the Draw Master can keep the points current.  Games not marked will not be counted.

4.     There are three trophies to win, Grand Aggregate, A-Event, B-Event.  In each case the winning team members will select one prize from the prize table.  Please note that in the event that the same team wins both the Grand Aggregate as well as an Event trophy the winning team members will be limited to only one prize selection from the prize table.

5.     If the sheet you are assigned to play on has gone overtime feel free to find a sheet that is not in use and move to that sheet.

Rules

1.         Curl BC Rules and Regulation shall apply (except spare rule).  It is the responsibility of all curlers to be familiar with these rules.  Rule books are free of charge at the front office.

2.         Spares are allowed to play any position, BUT an original member of the team MUST play either Skip OR Third, this includes the regular season AND the Round Robin, and this must not violate Rule 4.... If teams wish to play in violation of this rule, they must forfeit the points for each game.

3.     If a team is unable to commence play at 7:15 pm. their opponent may assess them a penalty of (1) point.  In addition, one end will be considered played for every ten minutes that the start of the game is delayed.  When the game does start, the offending team will throw first stone.  After a 30 minute delay, the offending team loses by default.

4.     Players must alternate by gender.

5.     NO MAKE-UP GAMES WILL BE ALLOWED.

6.     Tie games will be aloud only in the round robin.  In the playoff round extra end(s) will determine the winner, unless both skips agree to throw skips rocks.  Skips rocks must be in the house to count.  Sweeping is not permitted when skips rocks are chosen as the tie breaker.
